Andrea Di Nicola was interviewed by Corriere del Trentino following the cyberattack against the San Gaetano care home in Predazzo.
In the interview, Di Nicola discusses the growing exposure of public bodies, healthcare facilities and care institutions to cyberattacks, distinguishing between profit-driven cybercrime and attacks linked to geopolitical strategies and hybrid warfare. He also stresses that effective protection cannot rely on technology alone: it requires training, institutional cooperation and greater awareness of the human factor. Artificial intelligence is also lowering technical barriers, enabling less-skilled offenders to carry out increasingly complex attacks.
