At the Hatemeter Project Final Conference, the awareness campaign video for the prevention and fight against Islamophobia and online hate speech was presented
(Directed by Matteo Scotton)
The European project Hatemeter aims to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of NGOs in preventing and combating Islamophobia across Europe. Hatemeter has developed and tested a platform that automatically monitors and analyses social media data and, thanks to artificial intelligence, generates automated responses to support counter-narratives.
The project was coordinated by the University of Trento (eCrime research group – Faculty of Law, in collaboration with the Department of Sociology and Social Research, University of Trento) in partnership with Fondazione Bruno Kessler (Italy), Université Toulouse 1 Capitole (France), Teesside University (United Kingdom), Amnesty International – Italy (Italy), Stop Hate UK (United Kingdom), and CCIF – Collectif Contre l’Islamophobie en France (France).
Hatemeter was funded by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers under the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme (2014–2020).
Special thanks go to:
- The 22nd edition of the festival “Voci per la Libertà – Una canzone per Amnesty”, held in Rosolina Mare (Rovigo, Italy) from 18 to 21 July 2019.
- Roy Paci, Hatemeter testimonial and winner of the Amnesty International Italy Award 2019.
