Full professor of economic statistics at the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Trento. He is member of the directive board of the Institute of Safety and Security Sciences (ISSTN) of the University of Trento.
He is expert in spatial econometrics and survey techniques applied also to the Web and in the areas of crime and safety.
He has cooperated with the Italian National Institute of Statistics (Istat), the C.N.R., the College of Europe, the Italian Ministry of Interior, and the Italian Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies.
He has taken part in and/or directed more than 30 national and international studies (for the European Commission, the Italian Ministry of Interior, the Institute for Technologies Applied to Cultural Goods).
Since 2004, he has been a referee for national and international economical and statistical journals. He has authored many publications, including articles, chapters of volumes and books on sampling surveys, empirical analysis, statistical methodologies.
